Ode to my Dell

I was selfish to think I would always have you to myself
in the beginning the others that came along were too intimidated
too complex you were, not worth the time
slowly they became drawn to what i always knew was there
the potential and promise
the possibilities at my fingertips
then they- they discovered
what i already knew
emails, pictures, games
online education and more
i knew my time with you would shorten
time that is now shared with them…
it changed everything…
when the old folks discovered my Dell
